Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband (FTTP) – Up to 1,800 Mbps Download
Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband is “Fibre to the Premises” (FTTP) and the UK’s most reliable superfast fibre broadband connection. It uses fibre optic wires to carry data from an exchange point directly to your premises, eliminating the interruption of a street cabinet between the two.
With no slowdown of data, Full Fibre offers users a seamless broadband connection with stronger internet speeds and a more stable experience all round. Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband is perfect for:
- Large households
- 4K TV streaming
- Connecting 100+ devices
- Flawless online gaming
- Crystal clear video calls
- Reliable remote working
- Digital phone line support
Superfast Broadband (FTTC & SoGEA) – Up to 330 Mbps Download
Superfast Broadband, also known as Standard Fibre Broadband, is “Fibre to the Cabinet” (FTTC) and is the UK’s most widely used broadband type. It uses fibre optic wires to carry data from an exchange point to a street cabinet, and then a copper wire to your premises. FTTC is the best copper broadband connection available.
SoGEA (Single order Generic Ethernet Access) is an alternative to FTTC. The difference is that FTTC requires an analogue line (PSTN), while SoGEA does not. The main advantage of SoGEA is that, as a single-order service, it is cheaper and easier to install and manage. However, in areas where fibre optics are readily available, FTTC generally provides higher speeds and reliability.
Superfast Broadband is ideal for:
- Small-medium households
- HD / 4K TV streaming
- Connecting 20-50 devices
- Smooth online gaming
- Dependable video calls
- Digital phone line support
Standard Broadband (ADSL) – Up to 24 Mbps Download
Standard Broadband, also known as ADSL, solely uses copper wire from the exchange point to the street cabinet to your premises. This was once considered advanced technology, but as it relies on PSTN to function, it will be obsolete by 2027. In the coming years, people and businesses will be expected to switch to Full Superfast Fibre Broadband.
Standard Broadband is suitable for:
- TV streaming
- Basic web browsing
- Digital phone line support

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between SoGEA and FTTC?
With FTTC and SoGEA, data travels from an exchange point to a street cabinet to a property. FTTC requires a landline (PSTN) connection, while SoGEA does not. SoGEA is cheaper and easier to install, but PSTN is generally faster and more reliable. Both offer better connectivity than ADSL.
What is considered superfast broadband?
Superfast broadband usually describes an average internet speed of more than 30 Mbps. Our superfast fibre broadband packages cover a range from 24 Mbps (standard) to 1,800 Mbps (ultrafast).
What applications consume the most bandwidth?
Bandwidth-intensive applications are online tasks that usually lead to high network traffic and potential slowdowns. These include video conferencing apps like Teams and Zoom, streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube, and online backup apps, like Dropbox.
